Passed peacefully away at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista on Sunday, July 5, 2026, Effie Florence Penney (Payne) of Morley’s Siding, formerly of George’s Brook, age 85 years.
Predeceased by her parents Clarence and Jane Ellis; 1st husband Harvey Payne and 2nd husband Wilbert Penney; sons Kenneth, Joseph, Calvin, Paul and Harvey Jr.; daughter Georgina.
Left with fond and loving memories her children, Ralph (Muriel), Florence (Larry), Wallace (Ruby), Terry (Grace); grandchildren, Ralphy (Erica), Joshua (Jackie), Wandalee (Myles),Christine (Chad), Jenelle (Kirk), Kayla (Justin), Tanya, Melanie (Trevor), Kenny (Kayla), Holly (Adam), Andrea (Bruce); great grandchildren, Zachary, Logan, Sarah, Claire, Mason, Leah, Cheyenna, Jesse, Analea, Owen, Lilly, Emma, Chase, Kinsley, Maya; step great grandchildren Sandra-Anne, Alicia and Sierra; special friend Fernie Moss; and a large circle of family and friends.
Resting at Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, George’s Brook-Milton. Visitation on Friday, July 10 from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, July 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, George’s Brook Milton with interment to follow at Milton-George’s Brook Cemetery.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Cozy Quarters and Golden Heights Manor for the kindness, compassion, and care they provided to Effie during her stay. Your support and dedication brought comfort to both Effie and her family, and will always be remembered with gratitude.
