Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, July 6, 2026, Marjorie Avery of Clarenville, formerly of Deep Bight, age 77 years.
Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary Short; grandson Dion Avery; sister Anna Belle Chatman and brother Derek Short.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Otto of 59 years; children Karl (Glennis), Robert (Jennifer), Lorne (Stephanie), Austin (Krista), Wallace (Dawn) and Angela (Edwin); grandchildren Cody, Tiffany, Ryan, Katie, Madison, Jesse, Scott (Amanda) and Alisha; great grandchildren Ashton, Brinley and Arabella; sisters Alma (George Lambert), Rosalind Payne, Valerie Short (Leo), Deborah Neil and Judy (Boyd Hiscock); brothers Charles Short (Florence) and Ralph Short; many nieces and nephews ; and a large circle of family and friends.
Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel, Clarenville at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026 with interment to follow at the United Cemetery, Deep Bight.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the Doctors and Nurses for the wonderful care given to Marjorie during her hospital stays. Special thanks as well to Dr. Stockwell and her home care workers for everything they have done for her.
