Condolences

Passed away suddenly at her home on Sunday, August 2, 2026, Colleen Oakley of Lethbridge, age 57 years.

Predeceased by her grandparents Ida Frances and Cyril Penney; Darius Sr. and Dorothy Oakley.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Robyn (Benjamin) and Taylor (Nikkia); mother Betty Oakley (Robert); father Darius (Roy) Oakley (Marguerite); sisters Kim (Ren Russell) and Karen (Eric Santiago); brother Justin Oakley (Deneka); nieces Courtney, Isabella, Rachel and Remi; nephews Cody, Jeremiah and Mateo; great niece Sadie; great nephews Brice and Brock; a large circle of friends and extended family including aunts, uncles, step siblings and many cousins; her beloved cat Iggy and grand kitty’s Nami, Luffy and Mabel.

Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Visitation will be on Sunday August 9, 2026 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2026 at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel, Clarenville. Cremation will follow the service.

Sending deepest condolences to the family at this time of your loss of a lovely person. We met while sharing a curling iron and hairspray at my childhood home in the very early 80’s and we kept in touch at work until recent years.

I have a lot of fond memories of growing up with her as my friend from playing with her Barbie dolls, to sleepovers at each other’s homes and our love of Rick Springfield back in the day. To Colleen’s Family, I met this beautiful lady over 30 years ago when visiting friends in Shoal Harbour. I loved her immediately. She was one of those rare souls who’s presence and voice could calm a storm. So open and genuine and appeared to receive everyone she met without judgment. I saw her again a few times over the years.. The same warm smile on her face and arms open to hug. I am truly sorry for the loss of a sweet spirit. My heartfelt sympathy for all who knew and loved her.
