“Carl always did what he wanted. It just so happened that oftentimes what he wanted was to give his time to others. Carl seemed to have this overwhelming need to help people, which was shown by how much he cared for the people he knew and all he did for his community. Carl’s second most impressive feat in his life was probably how he somehow knew a person from every little bay and community on this island, but his biggest feat was the incredible amount of love and support he gave to his family.

Carl was warm, funny, and, most importantly, kind. His family and friends hope he is best remembered for his kindness. He will be immeasurably missed.”

How do you say good-bye to someone in your life who was caring, kind, funny, a great story teller, hardworking, a very family oriented man, but mostly our good friend. We spent many hours over the years , whether at Kinsmen and Kinette functions, at each others homes, sitting around “chewing the fat”, as the old folks would say, as we shared a good scoff and enjoyed each others company. I spent thirteen years on the Lethbridge Refuse Committee with Carl. Even at those meetings he shared a good laugh with us about something. We had so many wonderful times with him and Barbie. Many smiles, as we listened to the great story teller, lots of laughs and of course serious conversations when he talked about doing things to help people, especially things for kids. He spent countless hours on his own dime at the Lethbridge dump, the recreational area in the forest road and many hours at the skating rink up by Greenwood. Anything for the children.
He will live in the hearts forever, of all who knew and loved him. Carl, thanks for being a part of our life. We were proud to call you our friend. We’re all going on that journey you have taken . We may be a little slower, but we will catch up to you one day and take up where we left off. Until then, we will all miss you and think of all the memories you have left us. RIP my friend. God speed.
Deepest condolences to you Barbie, Spencer, Craig, Bobbie, Rebecca and the rest of the family and Carl’s large circle of friends.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Carl was a very kind man. When we had covid the first time, he and Barb brought us a meal from Pyes. They didn’t even know us, they just knew we had children and they wanted to help. The kindest gesture I’ve ever experienced.
