Floyd J. Brown September 18, 1965 - May 15, 2026

It is with deep sadness and an overwhelming amount of love that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Floyd Brown of Mount Pearl, formerly of St. Jones Within, aged 60 years. Floyd passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s on Friday, May 15, 2026 just before 5 o’clock.
Floyd is predeceased by his uncles, Lloyd, Winston, and Albert, and his aunt Lilly. Left with fond and loving memories his wife of 32 years, Cora. His son, Jeremy (Kelsie); parents, Jim and Selina Brown; brother, Chesley Junior (Joan) parents-in-law, Gilbert and Audrey King, brother-in-law, Truman, nephew, Jackson; and a large circle of family and friends.
Visitation to be held at Fewer’s Funeral Home in Clarenville, Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral service to be held at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel in Clarenville Friday, May 22, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. The family would like to take this time to thank the care team at the Health Sciences Center. A special thank you to Larry and Liz Tracey; and Leonard Dooley and Rowena Brown for your love and friendship.
Floyd never left you wondering what he was thinking. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend. His family and friends count themselves lucky for the time they were given, but his sharp wit, kind heart, and genuine nature will be forever missed.

Hi Cora. I am very saddened to hear of Floyd’s passing. My condolences go out to your family and the King and Brown families for your loss. It’s been some time since I last saw Floyd but will forever remember the good times we all shared in our earlier years. He could always make everyone laugh and there was never a dull moment when he was around. Another friend gone too early.

So sorry to hear the sad news of Floyd’s passing. We visited Loreburn last summer and Floyd welcomed us on the wharf and we spent a couple of hours enjoying his friendship and company. He gave us two gallons of partridge berries that he had just finished picking on the barrens by his cabin. He will definitely be missed by many.

I was so incredibly sad to hear of Floyd’s passing. We grew up together in our small community in Newfoundland and shared so many childhood memories. I was honoured to stand with Cora and Floyd on their wedding day many years ago, and I will always remember Floyd as kind, genuine, and someone who brought laughter and warmth to those around him.

One memory that came back today made me smile — as kids, a bunch of the boys, Floyd being one of them, were teasing us girls while we were out in a rowboat in the harbour and rocks started flying. Childhood adventures in outport Newfoundland looked a little different back then. It’s memories like those that stay with you for life.

Sending my deepest condolences, love, and prayers to Cora, Jeremy, and all of the Brown and King families. Rest peacefully, Floyd ❤️
