April 25, 2026 at 11:33 amBarry was a first cousin of mine. He played a huge role in not only my childhood but also my journey to adulthood and beyond. From children playing during visits to his home to see Granny and Pappy, classmates through high school and a friend 🧡 When I moved to Alberta with Roger and his brother Curtis in 1981, Barry, Geoff, Denny Penney and Murray Chatman stayed with us. What fun was had by seven Newfies in a two bedroom apartment! He stood in for my Dad and was so proud to walk me down the aisle when Roger and I married! Although I hadn’t seen him for years I was able to make contact with him two years ago. I was planning our 50th school reunion and Heather was kind enough to provide me with his contact information. We had a wonderful telephone conversation and reminiscied about all of great memories. Sadly, he was unable to attend due declining health. He was remembered with fondness by all of former classmates.
Condolences to Nicole, Heather, grandchildren, Geoff and his partner Bonnie. RIP Barry and I’ll see you on the other side!
