Peacefully passed away at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Sunday, October 25, 2026. William Joseph Tilley of George’s Brook-Milton in his 92nd year.
Joe was predeceased by his parents John and Elsie Tilley, wife of 61 years Marina Tilley (nee Pelley), son Rodney John Tilley. Parents-in-law Roland and Lillian Pelley. Sisters Florence (Theodore) Adams, Marion (Frank) Geraci, sisters-in-law Inez (Walt) Stanley, Roma (Hughie) Bailey, brothers-in-law Raymond Holloway, David Pelley.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories son Willam (Lois) Tilley, grandchildren Joey (Miranda) Tilley, Kristen (Jordan) Collins, great grandchildren Mariana Wiseman, Clarke Collins, sisters-in-law Hollis (Lloyd) Adey, Marie Pelley, Dorthey (Randell) Marsh, special friend Margaret Crocker, special niece Christine (Kent) Vey and a large number of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Joe Tilley, as everybody knew him, was a very hardworking, outgoing and friendly person. He was always there to lend a helping hand with a smile and laugh along the way, to whomever needed it. He dearly loved cutting firewood, farming and sawing lumber. He was always available to do things for this family, no matter what time day or night it was. Rest easy now pop, your work here is now done on this earth, you can relax in heaven.
Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel, Clarenville, with interment to follow at Interdenominational Cemetery, Milton-George’s Brook.
The family would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses, and staff at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital for their care to Joe this past month. Special thanks to his home care workers Valerie Walters and Theresa Samson for their dedication to Mr. Tilley.
