William “Bill” Harris November 6, 1953 - November 16, 2024

Passed away suddenly at his cabin in Salmon Pond (a place he loved and cherished) on Saturday, November 16, 2024, Bill Harris of Port Blandford, age 71 years.

Predeceased by his wife, Carol (Blackmore) Harris, Parents William & Marcella (St. George) Harris, Parents-in-law Donald and Elsie (Garrett)Blackmore, Brother Wade Harris and Brother-in-law Gary Holloway, sister-in-law Glenda Blackmore, and nephew Tyler Dove.

Leaving to mourn with loving memories his sons Christopher (Angie) and Justin (Roxanne), precious grandchildren Cole, Ben, Jake, Abby and Billie. Brothers Gerald (Agnes) Harris, David (Paulette) Harris, Sisters Christine (Dave) Jones and Exie (Ged Dalton) Harris, Sister-in-laws Donna Holloway, Dianne (Allan) Greening, Karen (David) Peddle and Kimberly (Michael) Hobbs, Brother-in-law Douglas Blackmore, his nieces and nephews and a large circle of family and friends.

Bill worked with the Department of Highways for ~30 years before retiring in 2013.  Bill was a very active member of his Port Blandford community. He was the Commanding Officer of the 310 Clode Sound Sea Cadets for more than 25 years. He received his 45 year pin with the Port Blandford volunteer fire department in October of this year. He was a long time member of the RC Legion Branch 48. He was a committee member of the first Port Blandford Recreation Association.

Resting at St. Aidan’s Anglican Church, Port Blandford, Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 2 – 7 p.m.  A cemetery service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 22, 2024.

    To the family of Bill, you will miss him sadly I’m sure but you will have the memories of him throughout the years that you can cherish going forward. I am shocked to hear he is gone and I to will reminisce of the times gone by in the years we worked together at Transportation & Works
