January 3, 2024 at 2:00 pmPlease accept our condolences We are sorry for your loss. Aunt Ruby is the end of an era. She was a beautiful lady, whom taught me many things. The greatest compliment I ever received was the day a friend told me I looked like Aunt Ruby.
I have so many wonderful warm memories of the times I spent with Aunt Ruby & Uncle Eric in Clarenville.
Our family lived in, what was known at the time, as Lower Clarenville and Aunt Ruby & Uncle Eric lived in, what was known as Upper Clarenville.
As a child of 8 or 9 I was sent to stay with them to help Aunt Ruby with her new baby boy.
Well, as it turned out, I wasn’t much help, because I got very homesick.
Uncle Eric had to take me back to lower Clarenville on the handle bars of his bicycle.
Life is full of wonderful memories. To Aunt Ruby’s family, I say,
keep her memories close to your hearts and you will have her with you forever.
With much love & many warm hugs
Maxine & Greg

January 3, 2024 at 11:22 pmBeverley, Cyril and families.
So sorry to hear of Aunt Ruby’s passing. As the last of the Hiscock siblings, she leaves a large void in our family tree. I have many fond memories of Aunt Ruby and Uncle Eric as a child and then as an adult visiting them with my family. Covid prevented us from visiting them recently, but Jim and I made an effort every year to pay a visit to them in the home in Hickman’s Harbour. Those visits will be cherished by us.
I remember when preparing for the Hiscock reunion, four of us sisters, Mildred, Maxine, myself and Valerie met at Aunt Ruby’s with Aunt Ruby, Aunt Joyce, Aunt Mary and mom. What wonderful memories! I will cherish those memories and all memories of Aunt Ruby.
Much Love Bessie and Jim

January 7, 2024 at 10:00 amCyril Beverly and families. So sorry to hear of Aunt Ruby’s passing. Many fond memories of our family visits to Deep Bight and subsequent visits to Clarenville. And their visits to Ontario at Maxine and Greg’s homes where we all enjoyed hours by the pool. She will be sadly missed but looking back we can say without a doubt she lived a wonderful life surrounded by her family friends and loved ones. She is safe now resting in the arms of Jesus surrounded by her heavenly family. What a Hiscock reunion that must be.
