Gladys Jane Holloway October 31, 1933 - December 31, 2023

Passed away suddenly at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, St. John’s on Sunday, December 31, 2023, Gladys Jane Holloway of Lethbridge, residing at Bishop Gardens, St. John’s, age 90 years.  Predeceased by her husband Hanuel; infant daughter Judy and son-in-law Jim.

Left with fond and loving memories her children Joyce, Wilfred (Claudia), Wilma, Gloria (Wayne), Bruce (Sheila), Bonnie (Roy) and Sandy; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sisters Rita Hynes, Betty Budgell and Joyce Abbott; brothers Sandy and Ches (Sharon); sisters-in-law Vera Abbott, Gertie Abbott, Anne Abbott, Olive Holloway, Mona Butt, Louise Jacobs (Sean) and Bess Penney; brothers-in-law Ross Holloway (Michelle), Glen Holloway, Herman Holloway (Joyce) and Barry Holloway (Minie); special friend Helen Spurrell; a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; along with her friends at Bishop Gardens, St. John’s.  Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Lethbridge.  Visitation will be 12 noon – 9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.  Funeral service 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the United Church, Lethbridge with interment to follow at the United Cemetery, Lethbridge.  Flowers grateful accepted or donations can be made to the United Church, Lethbridge.

The family would like to thank the staff of Bishop Gardens, St. John’s for their care given to Gladys.

Funeral service 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the United Church, Lethbridge with interment to follow at the United Cemetery, Lethbridge.

    Sincere condolences to Sandy Moyles and her entire family on the passing their beloved Mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Gladys was a beautiful soul and she will be so missed.     We were very sad to learn of your dear Mother’s sudden passing. We are out of province at the moment and are so sorry that we can’t be with you in person at this time.     I’ was so shocked and saddened to hear the passing of sweet Gladys. My dad and mom became good friends of Gladys at Bishop’s Gardens. They all sat at the same table in the diningroom.. I am so sorry for your loss. Sending my sincere condolences to all the families and I’m passing along the same from my mom and dad Bill and Pearl Janes. Thinking of you all at this difficult time.

    I will think of Gladys every year when I put the most adorable lil gnome ordainment she gifted me on my tree!! She was such a kind, sweet woman. I got the chance briefly to work with her. Absolutely loved her calm and welcoming demeaner!! May she be at peace now keeping watch over all those she loved, still walking the earth.
