Rosalie (Rose) Bailey passed peacefully in her Goose Cove home on Sunday October 15, 2023, at the age of 72.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, relative, and friend to so many, she has left a void in our hearts. Her vibrant presence and lively personality will forever be cherished in our memories.
Born on August 5, 1951, Rose was a ray of sunshine from the very beginning. She possessed an adventurous spirit and a deep love for the outdoors. Fishing became one of her greatest passions, and she found solace and joy in casting her line into the water. Her laughter was infectious and could brighten the darkest of days. Her outgoing nature drew people to her like a magnet, and she made a lasting impression on everyone she met. Through her genuine kindness and warmth, she formed countless meaningful connections that she cherished throughout her life.
But it was within her own family that Rose truly found her purpose and happiness. Her grandsons were the apples of her eye, and their laughter filled her heart with immeasurable joy. She delighted in every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories and instilling in them her love for adventure and laughter.
Rose’s love extended beyond her immediate family. She was a pillar of support and a cherished friend to many. Her genuine interest in others and her ability to make everyone feel valued endeared her to countless individuals over the years. And their two beautiful cats cannot go without mention. Sweet Dora and Rusty brought her so much enjoyment. Her immense capacity for love, empathy, and understanding left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
She was the beloved wife of Douglas (Doug) Bailey, with whom she shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. Leaving to mourn her son, Mark (Nicole (Nicki) Bailey) and her two adoring grandchildren, Ben and Jack. Rose is survived by her siblings Polly, Sonny, Marjorie, Betty, Billy, Carol, Duane, and their families. She is predeceased by her parents, Marjorie and Willis Lundrigan and sister Shirley-Louise. She had nothing but fond memories and deep love for all her family and friends.
A small private visitation will be held at Fewer’s Funeral Home in Clarenville on Thursday October 19th. A family gathering for others wishing to celebrate this beautiful soul will also take place at her Goose Cove home shortly after in the afternoon. Please contact the family for details.
Rose’s love for animals was admirable and she’d love nothing more than to support an animal in need going to a good home. Donations in her memory may be made to the SPCA by visiting http://www.spcanl.com/donate/.

I grew up across the street from her and use to babysit Mark, and Taffy. Her beautiful nature, beautiful smile and happy laughter will be forever missed. She always had a good chuckle with you and radiated kindness and joy. My thought and prayers are with you all.
