Ralph Short March 5, 1957 - September 28, 2026

Passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, September 28, 2026, Ralph Short of Deep Bight, age 69 years.

Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mary Short; brother Derek Short; sisters Annabelle Chatman and Marjorie Avery.

Left with fond and loving memories are his children Melissa (Stephen Warren) and Sarah Short (Christopher Grant); grandchildren Braeden, Riley, Reed and Rayna; sisters Alma Lambert (George), Rosalind Payne (Austin), Debbie Neil, Judy Hiscock (Boyd) and Valerie Short (Leo); brother Charles (Florence); mother-in-law Shirley Green; sister-in-law Dallas Short; brothers-in-law Wade Chatman and Otto Avery; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Ralph’s passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He was an incredible role model to his children and grandchildren, and his strength, patient heart, and subtle sense of humour brought warmth and joy to the lives of everyone around him. Above all, Ralph will be remembered for his kindness and the genuine care he showed to others.

His greatest passion was his family. His children and grandchildren hold countless wonderful memories of time spent with him, as he always made them a priority and cherished every moment with them. He also had a deep appreciation for nature, whether he was cutting wood, spending time outdoors, or simply taking a moment to admire the many creatures, big and small, that shared the world around him.

He devoted countless hours to his community and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a hardworking, dedicated, and committed man who gave so much of himself to others. His generosity, unwavering kindness, support, and, most importantly, his love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

His memory will live on through his family, the many lives he touched, and the countless memories he leaves behind.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
