Paul Alexander Bishop July 3, 1962 - October 1, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Paul Alexander Bishop, a beloved husband, father, family member, and friend on October 1, 2026.

Predeceased by his mother Cecily Bishop. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his wife of 36 years, Venus; son David (Jaxson); father Alexander Bishop; sister Kellie (Peter); sisters-in-law Luisa (Duane) and Leah (Shawn); and nephews and nieces; Brandon, Braunson, Owen, Anna, and Xander.

Raised in Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador, Paul carried with him throughout his life the warmth and community spirit of his hometown. He dedicated 45 years of his working life to Terra Nova Tel and Bell Aliant before retiring. Paul was also a proud member of the NewTel Ploneers.

After settling in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, Paul became an active part of his community. He served as President of the Parents Auxiliary for the 374 Air Cadet Squadron.  Family was at the heart of Paul’s life. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, and he treasured the large circle of friends and family who surrounded him.

Among his many cherished friendships were his coffee buddies, Gene and Charlie, with whom he shared laughs and good times.

Paul had many interests that reflected his curious and adventurous spirit. He was an amateur ham radio operator, enjoyed playing the piano, and could often be found plane spotting.

He had a particular fondness for British television and was an enthusiastic Star Trek fan.

His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and coffee buddies, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest peacefully, Paul. You will be lovingly remembered and forever missed. Cremation will be taking place.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Fewer’s Funeral Home in Clarenville.
