Phyllis Chaffey November 14, 1933 - October 26, 2020

CHAFFEY, Phyllis – Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, NL on Monday, October 26, 2020, Phyllis Chaffey of Musgravetown, NL, aged 86 years. Predeceased by her parents Heber & Ida Palmer; daughter Brenda; sister Olive; brothers Calvin and Sterling. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband Walter of 69 years; children Wayne (Delores), Claude (Lisa); son in law Eric; five grandchildren Stacy (Shawn), Rod, Braden, Steven (Natasha), and Neil; two great grandsons Cameron and Joey; sister Ida Mae; sister in law Gloria; brother in law Selby and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2020 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 from Heritage United Church, Musgravetown, with interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Musgravetown. The funeral service will be by invite only due to COVID-19 restrictions. In her memory flowers will be gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic, St. John’s.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 from Heritage United Church, Musgravetown with interment to follow at the United Cemetery, Musgravetown.  The funeral service will be by invite only due to COVID-19 restrictions.  In her memory flowers will be gratefully accepted or donations may be made the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic, St. John’s.

    To the Chaffey Family:
    We were so sorry to hear of Mrs. Chaffey passing. She was a very nice lady. & would do whatever she could for family & friends. She was a good next door neighbour and many a time she checked on our family especially when the kids were young. RIP Mrs. C

      My condolences to the family. We were neighbours for a long time. She always had a kind word and a lovely smile for all of us youngsters running around on our bikes or hanging out with Claude and Wayne at the garage.
      Our fondest memories are of the beet that she and Uncle Walt grew on the farm. In the fall, they would deliver the most delicious beet to mom for bottling! What wonderful memories of a beautiful soul!

    To Mr. Chaffey & Family. So truly saddened to hear of Mrs. Chaffey’s passing. I only came to know Mr. & Mrs. Chaffey the last few years during their weekly trips to Bonavista, but the love and friendship between them was evident from the very beginning. To lose someone is never easy but may those many wonderful memories of Mrs. Chaffey give comfort during the difficult days ahead. God Bless.
