Peggy Sacrey November 3, 1967 - November 26, 2022

Passed peacefully away at the Dr G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, NL on Saturday, November 26, 2022, Peggy Sacrey, aged 55 years.  Predeceased by her mother Ivy Wiseman, mother in law Jesse Sacrey and father in law Ephraim Sacrey.  Left with fond and loving memories are her father Bruce; her husband of 15 years, Dennis; daughter Stephanie (Patrick); sons Michael (Jennifer), Steven (Melissa); brothers Bruce Jr (Kelly), Brian (Lee); grandchildren Mason, Ryder, Taylor, Michael, Matthew; nephews Devon, Cole, Lucas, Joshua, Tyler; and a very large circle of extended family, friends and work colleagues.

Peggy was an exceptional teacher who strived to keep up on the latest tools for educating so she could use them in the classroom.  Peggy always wanted her students to do their best and she was with them each step of the way.  She had a passion for reading and through her hard work she inspired her students to be good readers, she knew that reading was the ground work for future success.

Peggy was a true friend. When you asked for her opinion or advice, you were sure to get an honest answer. Peggy was such an enjoyable person to be around, an avid storyteller with a flair for expression and acting that always had you laughing by the end of the story. Peggy would eagerly share her knowledge of gardening, interior decorating and growing vegetables in her green house.

Family and friends have the outmost admiration for this strong and remarkable woman. To say she was resilient would hardly describe her strength and ability as she lived and dealt with cancer.  In the midst of receiving the worst possible news she started a bucket list.  Her family and friends have wonderful memories in helping her fulfill the list.  Peggy’s model was to make the most of every single day and to live life to the fullest.  Family and friends have lost a very special person who they loved dearly.  Peggy will always be present in our hearts and minds.

Cremation has taken place.  Visitation to be held at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville, on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 2-4 pm.  A memorial service will take place at a later date.  In her memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society NL Chapter.

I had the great privilege to work with Peggy at Clarenville Middle School where she was, indeed, an excellent teacher and colleague (also supported by my daughter, a former student who thought she was excellent!). My deepest condolences go to Stephanie, Dennis and the rest of her family on the loss of someone who, unfailingly, did her part.

I first met Peggy during the 2009-2010 school year when we worked together at Bishop White School. We drove together that year and became friends. I am so sad that her day has come, but I hope her family finds a measure of comfort in that large impact she had on the lives of so many (particularly her students) during her life. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time.

Dennis, Stephanie, Michael, Stephen, Mr Wiseman & Family,
My deepest sympathies to you all during this very difficult time. I worked with Peggy at Baie Verte High and if those walls in the staff room could talk; Oh my the laughs we had! Peggy had the sweetest soul & was an instant friend. Although we lost touch over the years(only meeting periodically in a stadium or store), we would still reminisce about those laughs at School!
She is certainly gone from this earth way too soon & by that dreaded disease that has taken all the good ones!
My favorite quote since having to walk this road myself has been ” Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday….unseen, unheard but always near, still loved, still missed and held so dear” Take comfort in all your memories of Peggy!
