Peacefully passed away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, Meleta Carberry of Milton, aged 96 years.
Predeceased by her parents, Willis and Matilda Stringer; husband, Fredrick Carberry; daughters, Glenys Green and Wilma Carberry; brother, Hubert Stringer (Millicent); and long-time friend, Eric Stringer.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son, Maurice Carberry (Shirley), son-in-law George Green; grandchildren, Lisa Mingo (Trevor), Trina Wagg (Perry), Nadine Stringer, Paul Green (Lynette), and Darrell Green; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville, on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 2–4 p.m. and 7–9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel, Clarenville. Interment will follow at the Milton–George’s Brook Interdenominational Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, for the wonderful care received.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Milton-George’s Brook Interdenominational Cemetery fund.
