Passed peacefully away, surrounded by her family, at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital on October 31, 2025, Marie Slade of Arnold’s Cove aged 73 years.
Predeceased by her parents, Alec and Ethel Lockyer; parents-in-law, Thomas and Laura Slade; sister, Wilma Brown; brothers-in-law, Freeman Hollett, Hayward Slade, Eli Parsons; sister-in-law Joan Slade.
Left with fond and loving memories her husband, Clyde of 41 yrs; daughter, Ashley Best (Jamie); grandchildren, Regan and Dominic, whom she loved dearly. Also leaving to mourn sisters: Sheila, Daphne, Donna (Ross); brother, Dexter (Cathy) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Her family was the center of her world and she treated each with pride and unconditional love that will be dearly missed.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at G.B. Cross hospital for all your support and caring. We would also like to thank the many family and friends for your support and comfort during her illness.
Visitation will take place at First United Church, Arnold’s Cove on November 18, 2025 from 10am to 12 noon with funeral service to follow at 2:00pm. Interment to follow at Interfaith Cemetery, Arnold’s Cove.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Make-a-Wish Foundation or Mazol Shriners.
