Lloyd was an avid outdoorsman who loved moose hunting and boating. He enjoyed his time at the cabin immensely and got there whenever he was well enough to do so. His family were his pride and joy, especially Sarah, Ryan, and his grandpuppy Bailey. Lloyd always joked about having his own personal nurse in the family and Sarah, in the last few weeks, has stepped in and did just that. He was so proud of her and finally got his personal nurse. He was always cracking jokes and enjoyed making people laugh, even with the nurses during his admissions. He was well known at the hospital where he had many stints, but he never lost his humor or respect for those who cared for him.

The family would like to say thank you to all those who visited, brought food, and sent messages over the past week or so, it was greatly appreciated. Also, a big thank you to all the nurses and doctors at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital and Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital who provided such compassionate care to Lloyd over the past many years.  Also a big thank you to Lloyd’s home care workers, Lisa Dunne and Mavis Ledrew who took such amazing care of Lloyd over the past six months.

Funeral service 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel, Clarenville with cremation to follow.

Linda; Jennifer and Jeff. I am saddened to hear of Lloyds passing. Our paths haven’t crossed in over half a century but my memories of growing up with Lloyd are vivid as I easily recall the fun and games we had throughout our younger years and into our teens. Playing “war” games on the front porch looking out over the apple trees. Catching a ride on Derrick’s homemade wooden car and crashing into the lower fence line. Setting up the “train set” and watching in amazement as Lloyd portrayed being the engineer. Fishing for cod with his dad and then helping salt away the catch for a long winter. That and much more. I hope Lloyd can now Rest In Peace and may your memories of him guide you as you move forward. God Bless.
