Kenneth Pittman April 9, 1974 - January 22, 2024

It is with profound sadness the family of Kenneth Pittman announce his sudden passing, on Monday January 22, 2024 at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville at the age of 49 years.  Kenny is predeceased by his father William Pittman and grandparents, James & Selina Pittman and Abner & Pearl Simmons.  Leaving to mourn with broken hearts, his mother Elsie Pittman; daughter Deanna Pittman (James), granddaughter Layla and grandson Kayden; brothers and sisters Garry (Viona), Glenys (Randy), Elvis (Lily), Sherry (Todd) and best friend and neighbor Rob.

Kenny was a proud father and even prouder grandfather to two beautiful grandchildren, Layla and Kayden whom he loved dearly.  Anyone who knew Kenny knew he was a big Toronto Maple Leafs fan and wouldn’t miss a game.  Saturday nights you’d be sure to find him sitting in front of the television cheering on his favorite team.  He also loved the outdoors whether it be gardening, fishing or trouting, it didn’t matter as long as he was outside he was happy.  Kenny was a simple person and didn’t need a lot but appreciated anything anyone would give him or do for him. We will miss him dearly, until we meet again, we will love you forever and always.  Your memories we will hold close to our hearts.

Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville.  Visitation will be on Thursday, January 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Funeral service 2 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel, Clarenville.  Interment to follow at Pleasant Street Cemetery, Clarenville.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the SPCA, Clarenville.  Kenny dearly loved animals and we know this would be his wish.

A heartfelt thank you to the caring nurses and staff at the hospital and an extra special thank you to Dr. Wee for his utmost compassion and care.

Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.

Funeral service 2 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel, Clarenville.  Interment to follow at Pleasant Street Cemetery, Clarenville.

We are saddened by the news of Kenny’s passing. To aunt Elsie and the rest of the family, please be assured that we are holding you all in our prayers during this time of loss. I (Lorraine) have many fond memories playing outside with Kenny in our childhood years. I remember aunt Elsie would give me a sugar tablet to put in my pocket in the event that his sugar would drop while outside. It happened occasionally, and I proceeded to offer Kenny the sugar tablet. He would never eat the tablet unless I had a bite first. So, I obliged and off we went back to playing. This speaks of the generous heart that became a hallmark of his life as he grew older. In adulthood, he reached out to those who needed a helping hand. My brother, Fred, experienced this during his time of illness and he was very grateful. I want to leave you with a verse from Psalm 147:3 “ He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds”. I know today, your hearts are broken and as you take the time to honour Kenny, be reminded that God is in the midst of you to comfort and hold you. Sending our love and continued prayers.
