It is with broken hearts that the family of Emmie Blundon of Lethbridge, NL, announce her sudden passing at the Health Sciences Center in St. John’s, on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at the age of 77.  Emmie was predeceased by her parents Edward and Nina Matchem; parents-in-law, Fred and Margaret Blundon; brother Samuel Matchem; sister, Annie (Gord) Keats; sisters-in-law, Susie (William) Knox, Adelia (Robert) Collins; brothers-in-law, Thomas (Bernetta) Blundon, and Melvin Blundon; nephew, Thomas Keats; niece, Laurie Ann Matchem. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories to cherish forever, her husband of 51 years Reginald Blundon, her only child and best friend Peggy lee Blundon; son-in-law and best friend, Perry Simmonds; only grandchild, Cody Blundon, (who loved his grandmother dearly), and granddaughter-in-law, Sabrina Martin.  Also, her newborn great grandson, Reggie.  Who she couldn’t wait to meet and she did for a brief time because he was born January 17, the day before her passing. Sister-in-law Doreen Matchem, special nieces and nephews, Yvonne, Nancy (Jamie), Brian (Brenda), Ivan, and Samantha (Jonathon), and extra special great nephew Hayden, and other family and friends.  Emmie loved her family dearly. She was a hard worker and worked along her husband’s side at their business for 25 years before retiring. After retiring her and Reg enjoyed camping and they had a special relationship that everyone would relic. Reg would never call her Emmie it was always “Love or Sweetheart”.  The family would like to thank the ER staff at Dr. G.B.Cross Hospital, the staff of the ICU Health Science department,  as well as Fewer’s Ambulance staff.  As per her wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation to take place from Fewer’s Funeral Home in Lethbridge, on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
