Passed away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, July 8, 2021, Joan Simmonds of Canning’s Cove, age 91 years. Predeceased by her husband Frank; infant son Hubert; grandson Michael; parents Henrietta and James Pitts; sister Jean Frost; brother Heber Pitts; sister-in-law Athena Pitts. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Jean (Clarence), Carol (Randy), Chris (Karen), Perry (Peggy) and Rick (Dawn); grandchildren Terri (Rob), Jason, Justin (Nancy), Cody (Sabrina), Michael (Jeffrey) and Chelsea (Richer); great grandchildren Alison, Amelia, Gavin, Luke and expected great granddaughter Blake; brothers Marvin (Grace) and Oliver; many nieces and nephews, special friend Tom Shelley; stepdaughter Tina (Herb) and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at the Anglican Church, Canning’s Cove. Covid-19 regulations will be followed. Please contact the family if you would like to attend a visitation. Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 12, 2021 at the Anglican Church, Canning’s Cove by invitation only with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Canning’s Cove. If you would like to attend the funeral service please contact the family.

It was always a pleasure spending time with Joan and I cherish every memory. First when I moved to town, Joan would visit quite often and staying for a few days.
