Ivy was a well educated and progressive woman, who attended Memorial University and completed her Teacher’s Certificate.  This was quite an accomplishment in the 1950’s, one that she was very proud of. She taught in Snook’s Harbour, Deep Bight, and Victoria, where she met the love of her life Ray Clarke.  They got married and settled in Adeytown, where they raised their family and spent 64 happy years.  Ivy was also very proud that she was the first lady in Adeytown to acquire a driver’s license.  Throughout her life, she loved fiercely and was her family’s greatest supporter, protector and could make anything better. She was always there to lend a helping hand and would take on leadership roles when needed. She was heavily involved in the community. She was in the local UCW, of which she was president for a number of years. She was also the superintendent of the Sunday School in Deep Bight.  In addition, she was the president of the Random Horizon 50 Plus Club in Hillview.  She loved working in her garden, baking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and photography. She cherished her family and spent countless hours with her grandchildren.

Now her journey has ended, she is going home.

Funeral service to take place at the Memorial United Church, Clarenville on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 2 P.M. Interment to follow at the United Cemetery, Adeytown.
