Harold Claude Sheppard went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the age of 85 years. Harold was born in St. John’s, NL on June 30, 1940. He will be sadly missed by those who loved and knew him. Harold lived in Labrador City with his family for several years. He truly enjoyed his job working with Q N S & L Railway.
Harold and Delcia were married in 2015, they then moved to Fredericton, N.B. They spent much of their time travelling and enjoyed the new lifestyle in Florida. He enjoyed telling stories and playing darts with his friends. He had a wonderful sense of humour. Harold and Delcia recently moved to Clarenville at which time Harold unfortunately spent much of that time in hospital. The nursing staff at St. Clares Mercy Hospital, St. John’s and Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville loved him for his humour as he loved them. The care he received was a great comfort to him and Delcia.
Harold is predeceased by his first wife Merretta, and his son Dale. He leaves to mourn his wife, Delcia of 10 years. His children, Keith; Kimberly (Jeff); grandsons, Joshua (Kristen), Brendan (Andrea); daughter-in-law, Jan; brother, Ronald (Regina); sister, Patsy; and special friend Golda; and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home in Clarenville on Monday, October 13, 2025 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 @ 2:00 P.M. from Fewer’s Memorial Chapel, Clarenville. Cremation will take place after his funeral service with interment in Sunnyside Pentecostal Cemetery later.

We were saddened when we heard of Harold’s passing. It’s been many years since we have seen him. We lived in Labrador City many years ago and made connections at that time. Merretta was my cousin. Please accept our sincere condolences.

October 13, 2025 at 8:40 amDelica, Keith and Kim, Sending condolences to all the family. Harold was a good friend to my dad, Job especially when they lived in Labrador City. I recall the trip, although vaguely, that both of our families made to Nashville, TN. In 1971. May you hold all your cherished memories closely to your heart. Let them bring a tear but also a smile. Thinking of you all.
