George Dewling December 29, 1949 - November 21, 2023

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville after a short and courageous battle with cancer. George Dewling of Shoal Harbour, on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, aged 73 years. George was born and raised in his beloved Champneys East, where he would spend many days berry picking and gardening, with his 4 footed friend by his side. His career as electrician for 42 years took him to many places, making lifelong friends along the way. He was happiest at home with the love of his life, garedening, walking and tending to his birds. He was a dedicated and beloved family man to his children and grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Nellie Dewling; parents-in-law, Roy and Annie Hiscock; his brothers, John (Eileen), Roger, Bill, Robin, young brother Eddie; sisters, Corrine, Charlotte, Grace; sister-in-law, Leo May. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Shelia of 52 years. Children, Michael (Zabrina), Trina (Jamie), Roger (Karen); adored poppy to his grandchildren, Katelyn, Joshua, Lanie, Megan, Maya, Isabella, Max, Michael; brothers, Tom, Edmund (Marion), brothers-in-law Fred and Harry; sisters-in-law, Pam, Rose, Ruby, Madonna(Wayne), Barb(Cliff) and Pam(Rick); and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral service to take place from Fewer’s Memorial Chapel on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. As per his wishes, cremation will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Begal Paws or Daffodil Place.
