Dennis Taverner of Lethbridge passed away suddenly at Dr GB Cross Memorial Hospital on January 11/21, aged 68 years. He is predeceased by his father, Gordon Taverner, mother-in-law, Pearl Inkpen, and sister-in-law, Greta Taverner. He leaves with cherished memories, his wife of 46 years, Valerie, his mother Lily, daughters Carolyn, Jill (Dean), Wendy (Deon), and son Andrew (Amanda), father-in-law Arthur Inkpen, grandchildren Jack, Lexie, Luke, and Ryan; brothers Ed and Austin (Judy), brothers-in-law Gordon Inkpen (Brenda) and Bob Inkpen (Marilyn) as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and a large circle of friends. Dennis was a warm and generous man who was always there to bring a smile or lend a helping hand. He was often found working hard, enjoying the outdoors, and sharing good times while preparing delicious meals for family and friends. Dennis cared so profoundly for his loved ones, and his sense of joy and service to others will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by many, both near and far. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Fewer’s Funeral Home in Clarenville on Friday, January 15th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Service will be held at the Fewer’s Memorial Chapel at 11 am on Saturday, January 16th by invitation only. COVID rules will be followed. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to H Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre or the charity of your choice.

January 14, 2021 at 3:28 pmTo Val, Andrew and your Sisters. I/we are deeply saddened to hear of Dennis’, your Dad’s passing. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting your Dad when I/we first moved here to Clarenville 20+ Years ago and then meeting all of you folks as well. He was indeed a kind, hard working, gentle sole who would do what he could for who he could without hesitation and did not mind giving of his time. My fondest memory, aside from our working together while at Aliant, was a Snowmobile Trip he took myself and a Buddie on and with no GPS and what a day that was. He will indeed be sadly missed but I pray the love of your Family and Friends and the many, many, fond memories help you all through this most difficult of times.
