Passed peacefully away on May 20, 2024, Daniel Seaward of Clarenville at the age of 88 years. Predeceased by his wife Betty and also by his parents Moses and Dinah, sisters: Melita Carberry (Austin), Lydia Brown (Seymour), Myrtle Lambert (Arthur) and brothers: Edward (Eliza), Lush (Nora) and Arthur (Eva). Leaving to mourn with many cherished memories are his daughter Cassandra (Dean) and son Danny (Doreen); grandchildren: Melissa (Justin), Jeff (Katrina) and Michael (Ashley); great grandchildren: Cameron, Christopher and Charlee; nephew Barry (Liz). He also leaves to mourn a circle of nieces and nephews along with extended family members and friends.
Dan met his wife while working in the town of Terra Nova and was married for a few weeks shy of 50 years when Betty passed. He worked his life as a heavy equipment operator. He always liked to keep busy and could always find him in his garage. If something needed fixing, he could fix it whether it was the right way or not, it would be fixed! His garage was always a stop by for a yarn place. Lots of stories were told there. When not working or up in the garage, Dan and Betty would enjoy their time in their motorhome at the campground in Terra Nova with many friends always cooking up a meal.
The family would like to thank the Staff at St. Patrick’s Nursing Home for all the love and care shown to our dad, dads Family Physicians, Dr. David Brentnall and Dr. Gordon Stockwell, his home care workers, especially Annette/Mary for all the meals and Krister as dad would call her and his neighbors for always checking in on him and bringing a meal.
Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Visitation on Friday, May 24 from 7-9 pm and Saturday May 25 from 2-4 pm with funeral services to be held on Sunday, May 26, at 2 PM at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery.
