PHILPOTT, John Patrick – Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s on Thursday, September 24, 2020, John Patrick Philpott of Plate Cove East, aged 64 years. Predeceased by his father William; brothers Leonard and Brian. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children Colleen (Jonathan) and Johnny and their mother Mary; grandchildren Emma, Noah and Jacob; his mother Idella Philpott;; sisters Catherine, Ann, Marie (Mark) and Jacqueline (Allan); brothers Maurice (Brenda), Fredrick (Pauline), Gilbert, Michael (Marie) and Terry; his little buddies Micky and Molly; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 9 p.m. at the Roman Catholic Church, Plate Cove East. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the Roman Catholic Church, Plate Cove East. Covid-19 restrictions will be followed.
God’s Garden
God looked around His garden
And He found an empty place.
He then He looked down upon the earth,
And saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you,
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, “Peace be thine.”
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
