Velmore Balsom March 18, 1939 - October 23, 2021

Passed away suddenly in “The Garden” in Clarenville on Saturday, October 23, 2021, Velmore “Grandfather”Balsom of Clarenville aged 82 years.  Predeceased by his wife, Marguerite; loving companion, Elizabeth Peddle; sisters; Darcy Porter, Billie Elfner.  Left with fond and loving memories his children; Carol Anne (Robert), Rex (Gale), Rod (Eileen), Edgar (Angela); step children; Eileen (Don), Donna (Rocky), Tina (Clint), Lisa (Dwayne), Randy (Laura), Todd (Denise), Terry; grandchildren; Bruce (Melissa), John (Kristina), Mike (D’Arcy), Nicole (Brent), Alexander, Lochlain, Kaleigh, Mackenzie; great grandchildren; Bryson, Liam, Merrick, Ethan, William, Hudson, Sadie, Keira, Clara; sisters; Yvonne (Late Harry Pyrah), Dawn (Spencer Pardy), Deena (Frank Rowe); brothers; Robert (Late Hilda), Ivar (Rowena), Patrick (Lori), Joe, Rock, and a large circle of family and life long friends.  Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home in Clarenville.  Visitation will be Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from Fewer’s Memorial Chapel, 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2021.  Cremation and interment to take place at a later date.

    Both Shawna and I want to express our heartfelt condolences to each of you over the loss of your beloved father. Velmore was an important person in my life, we spent a lot of time together doing the things he loved … fishing, watching the games, being up at the cabin, enjoying good meals and sharing a drink. I thought the world of him and will never forget our times together. He will be missed…
