Passed peacefully away at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge, ON surrounded by her family Shirley Balsom of Deep Bight aged 87 years. Predeceased by her parents, Rueben and Mary Rees; parents-in-law, Alfred and Nellie Balsom; husband, David, son, John; great granddaughter, Talia; along with her siblings. Left with fond and loving memories her children, Denise (Rod), Colleen (Dale), Bonnie (George), Ruby (Calvin), Donna (Frank), Ralph (Connie), Paul (Rosa); 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Petten, Jean Rees; brother, Colin Rees; and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Zion Pentecostal Church in North West Brook on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 6-9 P.M. and Friday, February 14, 2025 from 2-9 P.M. Funeral service to take place from Zion Pentecostal Church in North West Brook on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. Internment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery North West Brook. The family would like to thank granddaughters, April, Chelsea, and Vanessa for spending countless overnights with her at the hospital. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at Cambridge Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion. Your kindness will forever be remembered. Also to her doctor Dr. Jayaram.
Shirley loved to knit, crochet, and do any kind of craft right up to her last days she kept her hands busy. She had a love for her family and God that went without saying. She was a social lady who loved going for coffee with her dearest friends.

She was such a nice person, very good at her work and helped me out many times, even coming from Deep Bight at 6 o’clock in the morning to help me reconcile the night audt.
