Ruth Vardy December 6, 1941 - May 26, 2024

Ruth Vardy, age 82 passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 26th, 2024.

Ruth was born in Bishop Falls, NL on December 6th, 1941 to the late Ralph and Alfreda Burge.  Ruth was a committed and dedicated wife to her cherished husband, Al and devoted mother to Greg (Jackie), Wilson (Trudy and family), Lynn (Rob and family) and Allan (Susan).  With fond memories of her siblings Shirley Reid (Tom), Brud Burge (Lou), Lin George (Gerald), Diane Adams (Lyle) and Larry Burge (Trudy).

Ruth found joy in the simple pleasures of life, with a particular passion for knitting and crocheting. Her hands were seldom idle, always creating beautiful, handmade treasures that will be cherished by her family for generations.

Ruth’s greatest love was her family. She was a steadfast presence in the lives of them all including her grandchildren Greg Jr, Jamie, AJ, Andrew, Kyle, & Jessica, and her great – grandchildren Cece, Annie, Edith, Griffin and Lincoln. Her quiet strength and unwavering support provided a foundation of love and stability for all who knew her.

Her loving spirit extended to her beloved fur babies over the years: Newton, Wonder, Lucky and Daisy, who were constant companions and brought her great comfort and happiness.

Ruth’s life was a testament to the beauty of a gentle spirit and the profound impact of a loving heart. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Visitation at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville on Wednesday, May 29 from 7 – 9 p.m. and Thursday, May 30 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.  Funeral service 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel, Clarenville with interment to follow at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or the Discovery Health Care Foundation would be much appreciated.

Funeral service 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Fewer's Memorial Chapel, Clarenville with interment to follow at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery.
