Ruth Knee June 21, 1960 - October 17, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Knee, age 65 years. Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband Roger Knee, parents William and Ruth Collins, and  baby brother Donald and sister Debbie White.

Left with fond and loving memories are her children Pamela, Robin (April) and Heather (Matthew); stepchildren Michael (Lynsey) and Angela (Curtis), and her adored grandchildren Allison, Benjamin, Lily, Elyse, Leah, Nadia, Drew, Emma and Nathan — all of whom were her pride and joy. Ruth will also be dearly missed by her brothers Douglas (Carolann) and Jeffrey (Daphne), brother-in-law Roy (Sheila) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Cremation has taken place. Ruth will be resting at St. James Anglican Church, Jamestown, NL for visitation on Sunday, October 19th from 6-9 pm. A funeral service to be held at St. James Anglican Church on Monday, October 20th at 2pm. Celebration of life to follow at Ruth’s home.

Ruth loved the outdoors and embraced every season doing the things she loved: fishing, boating, and ski-dooing. Her weekly card games with friends were a highlight, cherishing the time spent with them. Ruth especially loved spending time at the family cabin on Hayward’s pond, where she created countless memories with her children and grandchildren. The grandchildren will always remember their beachcombing adventures and catching connors off the wharf with Nanny.

In recent years, Ruth shared her life with her loving partner Ray Pye. Although their time together may have been brief,  their bond ran deep. Ruth and Ray made many beautiful memories side by side and hand in hand; tending to their garden, hosting “R & R boil-ups,” and finding joy in the little things. Ray’s love and devotion to Ruth brought comfort and happiness during her final years, and for that, her family will be forever grateful.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Susan Ash, Deanne Butt, Jackie Ellis, and the dedicated team at Total Home Care, along with the compassionate staff of the Palliative Care Program and the ALS Society. Your kindness and support meant the world to Ruth and her family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to the ALS Society of Newfoundland and Labrador at www.alsnl.ca

Doug, CarolAnn; Collins, Knee & Pye families – so sorry to hear of Ruthie’s passing. Been few years since saw Ruthie but remember she had a great zest for life and loved her family. ALS is such a devastating road to travel for all it touches – a donation has been made in Ruthie’s memory with the hope a cure can be found in the near future. May she rest in peace and your memories be of the best of times shared together. Hugs 🙏🏻
