Rosalind Patricia Churchill April 10, 1943 - May 19, 2023

Passed away after a lengthy illness at Dr. Albert O’Mahony Memorial Manor, Clarenville on Friday, May 19, 2023, Rosalind Churchill of Clarenville, age 80 years.  Predeceased by her husband Winston; grandson Grant Chaulk; parents David & Dorothy Best; sister Diane Barnes and step sister Freddie Gladney.  Left with fond and loving memories are her children Steven (Melissa), Wendy (Dennis) and Tracy (Lloyd); grandchildren Gordon, Ryan and Elizabeth; sisters Elizabeth Flinn, Triffie Winnstanley; Judy Crocker (Jim) and Marilyn Murph (Bern); brother David Best (Joan); sisters-in-law Olive Chisholm (Colin) and Lynn Baird; many nieces and nephews; and a large circle of family and friends.  Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 19 from 7 – 9 p.m. and Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville.  Funeral service will take place 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at The Salvation Army – Crossroads Community Church, Clarenville with interment to follow at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery.

“Rosalind, Ros, Rossy, all names you may of heard her called, but Mom and Nan were the names she was most proud to be called.  She was the sweetest old lady you’d ever meet.  She was loved by all, outgoing was an understatement, friendly, she loved to help others, donating, always involved in the church. She loved to shop, a passion that has passed through generations.  Family was her whole world, but Saturday’s were reserved for “Phase 10” with the girls.  She was a generous lady, never had a bad word to say about anyone.  She truly was the best of the best when it came to a mother, grandmother, sister, wife, Everything.  She was the best.”

Funeral service will take place 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at The Salvation Army – Crossroads Community Church, Clarenville with interment to follow at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery.

    Marilyn and family,
    Marilyn, we talked about THIS DAY for a week , you shared all your love for this gentle soul you call SISTER , she was kind, loving , sharing and loved her family fiercely, you told me .
    and I have no doubt in my mind that she was met this morning with open arms and hugs.

    My sincere condolences to all the family, Ros was truly a kind, gentle soul devoted to family. She had a special spot in all our hearts. My mother had such fond memories of babysitting her .Their chats remained a special gift over the decades and over the miles. Ros’s commitment to her spirituality gave her strength .Let that give you comfort through these sad times.

    So sorry to hear of the passing of Ros. She was always a gentle lady with a quiet disposition. Her handiwork was always meticulous and I still have the baby sweaters that she knit for my children. May your many fond and loving memories bring you comfort during those very difficult days.
