Ronald Bond August 16, 1947 - July 7, 2022

Ronald Bond of Southern Harbour, passed peacefully away at the age of 74 on Thursday,  July 7, 2022 surrounded by family at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital after a long, courageous battle with Autoimmune Hepatitis. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Lydia Bond, sisters Rhoda Pope and Laura (Wallace) Auchinleck. Parents-in-law Lillian and Peter Walsh. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Ann of 52 years. Children, Darren (Angela), Mark (Jennifer), Corey (Sarah) and Rhonda (Eric); grandchildren, Samantha, Brandon, Hannah, Cameron, Lucas, Aliyah, Erica, Amayah; great grandchildren, Mason and Anna; sister Freda (James)and brother-in-law Cyril; as well as a large circle of family and friends.

Ronald was a devoted family man who loved his family dearly. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing his accordion and had a great passion for hockey and his Montreal Canadiens. He retired in 1998 from Marine Atlantic after 32 years where he was known as Bonny by his shipmates. He carried his great sense of humor where ever he went and always loved a good joke. He especially loved teasing his grand kids who mutually loved his sense of humor.

Resting at the Christ the King Church in Southern Harbour on Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 3-5 and 7-9 P.M. and Monday, July 11, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, July 12 at 2:00 P.M. at Christ the King Church in Southern Harbour. Cremation to follow.

Many thanks and appreciation going out to family and friends who were always there to help anyway needed. Also, the staff at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital for their loving care during his many stays. A special thank you to Ashley Hickey who not only helped out tremendously but shared many laughs.

    I have many great memories of your dad from all the time I spent with you all years ago.       It’s a sad day as we say good bye to the best brother anyone could ever have, he was so caring ,kind and was aways up for a good laugh sense of humour like no other. .. I’m sure going to miss our chats and fun times ,until we meet again God Bless ,Love you I’m so privileged to have you for a brother..
