It is with heavy hearts we share the peaceful passing, at the G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, of our beloved Husband, Dad, Grandfather and Brother; Robert (Bob) Goldsworthy of Port Rexton.
Predeceased by his parents Annie and Abram originally of Champneys West.
Leaving to mourn with cherished memories are his loving wife of 52 years Clara; his sons John (Joanne) and Andrew (Shannon); and grandchildren Anna, Jack, Alaina, Kate; and sister Evelyn, brother-in-law Sid, and brother-in-law Gerald. Also leaving to mourn a wide circle of extended family and friends.
Bob was a mild mannered family man with a great passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed a rich lifetime of cod fishing and trouting, cutting wood and hunting, vegetable gardening and cooking up a feed for all hands. A skilled carpenter, Bob built ‘the Supermarket’, as well as their home and cabin where many happy memories were made.
Bob was a successful business person and dedicated community volunteer. He was committed to rural development; serving as mayor of Port Rexton and member of several regional development boards. Alongside Clara, he was also involved for many years with the Port Rexton 50+ Club, and travelled around the province attending social events. Bob knew the value of partnership and community involvement, and cherished many friendships made along the way.
Bob will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by many.
Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service to take place on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel, Clarenville with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Port Rexton. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Christ Church Memorial Fund, Parish of Port Rexton.
