Richard Herzick June 14, 1949 - January 26, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Richard John Joseph Herzick announces his passing at his residence in North Haven Manor, Lewisporte, NL, aged 71 years.

Richard was born in Toronto, Ontario to parents, Mea and Joseph Herzick. Richard shared fond memories of his time growing up with siblings, Ronnie, Joey, Jerry and Helena.

Richard leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his partner, Bernice Marsh; his children’s mother,  Linda;  daughters, Roslyn (Brian), Jennifer (Harvey); Sons, Trevor (Elsie), Casey (Shannon); grandchildren, Samantha ( Kyle), Adam, Molly & Liam; great-grandchildren, Skylar & Eva;  as well as nieces and nephews.

Richard was a gifted story teller. He enjoyed sharing stories of raising his children in Snooks Harbour, fishing with his buddies around Random Island and his adventures of riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

Richard had a passion for Music, as he travelled around Newfoundland he opened music stores in Clarenville, Marystown and lastly in Gander called Sou’Wester Music Store.  He loved music but surprisingly couldn’t play any instruments. Although it was not uncommon to hear him belting out the lyrics to “Grey Foggy Day” at 3 am.

Later in retirement Richard would often be found at Rexmans Harbour River trying to land a big fish. He couldn’t wait for the Salmon fishing season to open. Bernice and Richard would make their way to their trailer for the season.

There will be a visitation at Friday, January 29, 2021 at 2-4 pm from Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville, NL.   Please contact Trevor Herzick or Roslyn Herzick for a private invitation.

As expressions of sympathy donations in his memory may be made to the Kid’s Eat Smart Breakfast Program Helen Tulk Elementary, Bishop’s Falls, NL.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home and Fewers Funeral Home 299 Memorial Drive, Clarenville, NL.
