Raymond Pine October 13, 1943 - December 11, 2023

Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at GB Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville,  after a courageous battle with cancer, Raymond Eugene Pine of Southern Harbour age 80 years.

Raymond was predeceased by his parents John and Charlotte Pine; brothers Melvin, Dave and Ronald (Annie); sister Jessie Allen (Neil); parents in law Catherine and Henry Hickey, sisters in law Mary Pine and Mary Ann Emberley; brothers in law James Joseph Hickey (Ida) and Anthony Hickey.

Raymond leaves to mourn with a lifetime of memories his loving wife of 40 years Emma; his daughter Catherine (Charles Parsons) and grandsons Owen and Jesse; his brother Kevin Pine Sr.; sisters in law Mercedes Pine, Flossie Hickey, Jessie Hickey (Dave), Judy Collins (Willie), Jane Emberley (Peter) Marg Griffiths (Leo deceased), Nellie Sirignano (Nash deceased)  and Joan Giles; brothers in law John Hickey (Marie), Ambrose Hickey and Jim Emberley; special nephews Gary Hickey and Kevin Pine Jr and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Raymond was a fisherman his entire life and wouldn’t hear of retiring.  Every spring Raymond and Emma would head to their cabin in Raymond’s native Prowston and fish along side of each other until fall.  There were few times when you saw one without the other.  He was a devoted father and beyond proud when this year his grandson Owen was born.  Raymond was a quiet man, with a quick wit and always a story to tell.

As per Raymond’s wishes, cremation has taken place and his family will be receiving visitors at Christ the King Church, Southern Harbour from 1-4 and 6-9 on Thursday December 14th.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Christ the King Church, Southern Harbour with interment to follow.

“And I pray that the sun will shine, on this grey foggy day.”
