Passed peacefully away at her home in George’s Brook on Friday, February 16, 2024 Nita Strong aged 87 years. Predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Elsie Bailey; parents-in-law, Herbert and Annie Strong; husband, Don; sister, Fern (Gilbert) Blundon; brother-in-law, Raymond Strong. Left with fond and loving memories her children, Charmaine (Karlis); Theresa (Fabian), Trudy (John), Faye (Harold), Donny (Janette); grandchildren, Jamie (Lori), Victor (Sylvia), Wendy (Chris), Stephanie (Dave), Vanessa (Adam), Mike, Chris (Robyn), Edmund (Liz), Watson (Joanie), Deb (Emil), Jordan (Jodine), Shera (Mitchell), Craig (Dawn), Tiffany (Doug); great grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Cody, Parker, Reid, Reese, Ellie, Camryn, Jesse, Brody, Finnley, Brook, Cohen, Matt, Hailey, Claire, Seth, Liam, Rachel, Darcy, Logan; great great grandchildren, William and Nora; sisters, Shirley Strong, Nina (Mike)Byrne; nieces, nephews, and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home Clarenville, Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral to take place from Fewer’s Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. with interment to follow at the United Cemetery, Church Hill. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Association. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Daniel Rees, the staff of the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, as well as the staff of Fewer’s Ambulance Service Ltd. for their care and professionalism shown during Nita’s illness. They would also like to extend a special thank you to Nita’s home care workers Lisa, Debbie, Kim, and especially to Elaine who was by Nita’s side for the last 14 years. Your kindness and caring will forever be remembered.
