It is with profound sadness that on Tuesday June 25, 2024, our beloved Nancy (King) Hounsell went home to our Saviour. Leaving to mourn her passing is her husband and best friend of 34 years Brian Hounsell, her loving son Shane Hounsell, loving daughter in law Kathleen Hounsell and her grand daughter whom she loved so much, Alena Rose Hounsell; her father George King, her brother David King (Rhonda King); her mother and father in law, Llewelyn and Donna Hounsell; her sisters in law Valerie Wiseman (Lloyd Wiseman), Angela Brown (Ben Brown), Debbie Norris (Randy) and Cindy Walsh (Derrick Walsh); and her many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother Bertha King.
Nancy was known for her love of music and nature. Her smile could light up any room and she always put others first before herself. She fought a hard battle for the last 7 years and she will be forever loved and missed by her family.
In keeping with her wishes cremation will take place and no formal service to follow. Her family and friends will be celebrating her life and sharing memories in their own special ways.
It was Nancy’s wish that all donations be made to the Health Sciences Hospital and the Cancer Society of St Clare’s in St Johns, Newfoundland.

June 27, 2024 at 9:00 pmIt feels like just yesterday you were taking us girls camping , teaching us to swim and play instruments. You always encouraged the best of Rachel and I, you loved us girls like we were your own and I will forever be grateful for that. I know you’re watching over us, providing your guidance and wisdom; I can feel it in the wind and hear it in the songs the birds sing. I will love you forever and always, until we meet again!

June 28, 2024 at 3:12 pmI am so grateful to have known Nancy for the last 8 years. We met when I was searching for an accountant, and instead I quickly learned I’d found a friend. Nancy made such a difference in my life and it is obvious she was deeply loved by all. Her smile and laughter were infectious. Keep on playing your song in the stars, Nancy. As music is eternal, so too will be my memory of you. With love, until we meet again.
