Muriel Constance Hart December 1, 1926 - April 29, 2025

Passed away peacefully at the age of 98 years, Muriel Constance Hart. Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and a friend to all who knew her. She was predeceased by her mother Josephine Feltham Paul; her father James Feltham; her loving husband of 71 years, Charles Hart; brother Jordan Feltham and sister Joyce (Noel).

She leaves to mourn her daughter Pauline Stanford (Danny), son Jim (Ruth); brother Jesse (Alice); granddaughters Alison and Natasha; grandsons Christopher and Kristan; great grandsons Joshua, Elijah and Oliver and all her loving extended family in Glovertown, Catalina and St John’s.  She leaves many friends in Clarenville and Mount Pearl, especially, her long time friend Cassie Ivany. Special mention to her hairdresser and friend Bernice Myles who styled  her hair every week for over 30 years.

Muriel was born in Braggs Island, Bonavista Bay in 1926. Her father James Feltham died when she was 8 and she moved to Glovertown, with her mother Josephine and her brother Jordan. After her marriage to Charlie in 1946 she moved to Clarenville and lived there until the late 1980’s, when they moved to Mount Pearl. She was active in the church in Clarenville, and was a long time member of the choir and ladies auxiliary.

For those that knew her, her  door was always open and she insisted on you having a cup of tea and a cookie. She was amazingly organized.  She had a place for everything and everything in its place. Whether you dropped in unexpectedly or were invited, her home always looked the same…perfect. Unselfish, she always thought of others before herself. People always described her as a “lady”  well dressed, with never a hair out of place.

On her wedding day she arrived at the church in a horse drawn sleigh during a winter storm, and Charles remained the love of her life for the next 71 years. She spent her last year at Meadow Creek Retirement Home in Paradise. A very special thanks to the management and all the Staff in her section. . She was treated with respect, dignity and compassion by everyone there.  Also special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Health Science 4th floor A who were so caring and understanding throughout her last days.

Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville.  Visitation on Friday May 2, 2025  from  2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm.  Funeral Service to be held at St Mary’s Anglican Church, Clarenville on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 11 am. with interment to follow at Pleasant Street Cemetery, Clarenville.

Jim and family, we are sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I learned through our chats what a beautiful person she was. I saw how deeply you loved and cared for her and, no doubt, your mom knew she could always count on you to tend to her needs. May God bless you as you go through this difficult time. Rest in peace, Mrs. Hart.

Sincere condolences to all Muriel’s family. I first met Muriel when I worked in the Bank of Nova Scotia in Clarenville. …the old bank down on Marine Drive. She always had a smile when she came in, and was such a gracious lady. A life well lived.
