Mona Avery June 23, 1947 - January 8, 2026

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Thursday, January 8, 2026 Mona Avery of Deep Bight age 78 years. Predeceased by her parents, Mary and Leonard Peddle; parents-in-law, Allan & Violetta Avery; her husband, Ronald Avery, brothers, Willis Peddle, Leonard Peddle, and Zane Peddle; sisters, Ann Hyde, Marie (Eli) Stringer and brother-in-law Lawrence Avery.  Left with fond and loving memories her children, Helen (Rod), Keith (Sherry), Shawn (Peggy), Kim (Ray), Tracey (Dean); grandchildren, Desmond (Mykala), Christopher (Rebecca), Blake (Samantha), Bianca (Clinton), Taylor, Chelsea (Stephen), Devin; great grandchildren, Gemma, Eli, Leland, Townes, Senna; sisters, Linda (Byron), Bernice (Bruce), Val, Tina (Ray); brother, George (Joan); brother-in-law, Stan Hyde; sister-in-law Audrey Peddle; and a large circle of family and friends.  Resting at Trinity United Church, Deep Bight on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. and Sunday, January 11, 2026 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral service to take place from Trinity United Church, Deep Bight Monday, January 12, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Deep Bight.  Donations in her memory are gratefully accepted, with the charity to be determined at a later time. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Cozy Quarters for their kindness and care during her stay, as well as to the staff of Dr. G. B. Cross for their compassion and dedication.

Funeral service to take place from Memorial United Church, Deep Bight Monday, January 12, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Deep Bight.

    Tracy and the family sorry to hear about your mother’s passing. As a homecare worker I enjoyed working with your mother and father and they welcomed me in their home they both treated me like family. Your mother was a lovely person she was a loving and caring person they both loved their family. I knows what you all are going through because I lost my mother on July 16 ,2023 and I lost my father on October 5 ,2025. Hold on to your memories and that will help you all get through this difficult time. Sorry I couldn’t be there due to circumstances but my mind was there with yous all. I will keep you all in my prayers and God will give yous all the strength to get through it. God bless Michelle Squires
