Marion Ivy Slade Nee Hardy, Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre surrounded by love. Predeceased by her husband Reginald , her parents John and Sylvia Hardy, sister Blanche, sister and brother in law Loretta and Fred Munden , brother in law Bob (Elaine) Strickland, sister in laws Alice (Walt) Allen , Jesse (Walt) Slade, brother in laws Morgan (Norma) Slade, Neil (Bessie) Slade, Wilson (Ruby) Slade and her very dear and best friend Beatrice Smith.
Leaving to mourn is her daughter Karen Slade, son David (Lisa) Slade; her grandsons who were her pride and joy, Zachary Beaton, Nicholas and Nathan Slade. Her brothers Ray (Avalon), Johnny (Valetta) , sisters Elaine (Bob), Verna (Roland) , sisters in law Ruby (Wilson), Norma (Morgan), Bessie (Neil), brothers in law Walt (Jesse), Walt (Alice) and many nieces and nephews. She will be lovingly and forever missed by family as well as a large circle of friends from Arnold’s Cove and Burnt Island. She provided strength to others in their time of need and was a rock to many as they struggled with personal loss and pain.
Her unique sense of humour and quick wit will be fondly remembered and will continue to be a source of lasting entertainment as her friends and family reminisce. Her legendary chocolate cake will be missed by generations!
As per Marion’s wishes there will not be a Visitation or a Funeral service. She will be cremated with a celebration of her life to be planned by the family at a later date.
