Marie Stead March 25, 1931 - May 17, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Marie Stead of Musgravetown, on May 17th, 2025 at the age of 94 years.

Born on March 25, 1931 in Cape Island, NL., Marie was the beloved daughter of Delilah and John Vincent. She was a devoted mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and cherished friend, and a guiding light to all who knew her.

Marie is survived by her daughter Gail (Anthony), sons Rick (Florence Ann) and Kirk (Pauline), grand children Megan, Jonathan (Lauren), Timothy (Deanne), Stefanie (Steve), Ian (Candice), and Hayley (Steve), great grandchildren Ellie, Dominick, Elliot, and Jacob, sister Levina and brothers Eric (Marion) and Pearce (Sylvia) and preceded in death by her parents,  husband Vernon, sisters Emily (Jack Stagg), Beryl, Bea (Herbert Howse), Winifred (Alvin Holloway), and Shirley (Austin Day), brother Fred Vincent (Audrey) and brother-in-law Bruce Neal.

She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, community support, and generosity, and her love of knitting, crosswords, gameshows and a good game of cards, and the countless lives she touched with her warmth and wisdom.

Special thanks to the management and staff at Meadow Creek Retirement Home for the incredible care she received while living there for the past few month.

Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home in Lethbridge on Tuesday May 20th, 2025 from 2 – 4 PM and 7 –  9 PM. Funeral Service at 11 AM on Wednesday May 21st, 2025 at Heritage United Church, Musgravetown with internment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Musgravetown. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to her beloved church, Heritage United in Musgravetown in her memory.

Her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

 

Funeral Service at 11 AM on Wednesday May 21st, 2025 at Heritage United Church, Musgravetown with internment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Musgravetown.

    I would like to say thank you for all the memories. As a young girl when I would come to Musgravetown, with my best friend Megan, I was always welcomed and loved and fed ♥️ May her memory be a blessing.

    Fond memories of Aunt Rhe as a loving Aunt who went blueberry picking, cooked delicious meals for us when we visited in summers long ago. I remember one time when she slept in a tent with me before she had children. Although it was many years ago God saved the family from a fire and I got to play with my cousins Kirk, Rick and Gail. Always loved by Wendy, and Cheryl.

    Rick, Gail and Kirk, my thoughts are with you at this sad time. I spent so many enjoyable days at your place, especially when you were young, Rick. (It’s hard for me to think of you as Rick because you were always Ricky then.) I loved your parents and grandparents and was so heartbroken when your dad passed. I can still picture him in that green dump truck. Your mom will surely be missed. She was loved by all. But again your whole family was. Remembering is making me tear up. Bless you all.     Rick, Kirk, Gail and families. Sorry to hear of Marie’s passing, please accept out sincere condolences. I remember her well and always looked forward to seeing her at church whenever we were home. She and your father were great friends of mom and dad as your father worked for years with dad at the Service Station. Unfortunately we will be unable to attend as we are currently in Kelowna BC on vacation, but will be thinking of you.
