Lily Florence Crocker

It is with great sadness that the family of Florence Crocker, aged 84 years, announce her passing at her home in Swift Current on Sunday, December 5, 2021. She is pre deceased by husband Ernest, parents Frank and Jemima Norris, parents-in-law Kenneth and Gertrude Crocker, son-inlaw Andrew Shea, brother Art Baker and wife Lydia, brother Bill Norris and wife Edna, sister Mary Critch and husband Bernard, sister Myrtle Norris, brother-in-law Harvey Crocker , brother-in-law Eldridge Crocker and wife Madonna , sister-in-law Joyce Barrington and husband Don. Left with fond and loving memories are: children; Paulette, Wade (Una), Barry (Janice) and Brent (Gloria), grandchildren; Christopher Shea (Andrea Gill), Krista Shea (Ray Murphy) Kayla Shea (Naomi Turnbull), Amy Barrington (Colin), Kyle Crocker, Neil Crocker (Jenny Hatt), Jamie Crocker and Shane Crocker, great grandchildren; Daniel Crocker, Callie Crocker, Alex, Jackson and Maddox Barrington, Andrew Shea, Logan Murphy, siblings and in-laws; Herb (Ada) Norris, Joyce Crocker, Victoria Norris, Mabel Pickett, Doris Mackaracher, Gerald (Beverly) Norris, Roy Crocker (Olive), Sylvia Penney (Ed), Ralph Crocker (Hilda), and Brenda Harvey (Dave), a large circle of nephews and nieces (Gayle Small), cousins (Beverly Janes) family and ‘almost family’ and the many friends she made as a dedicated community member and volunteer throughout her life. Resting at Bethany United Church in Swift Current. Visitation is Wednesday, December 8th, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, Thursday, December 9th, 7-9 PM. Funeral services will take place from Bethany United Church, Swift Current on Friday, December 10 at 11 AM followed by interment at Swift Current United Church cemetery. Flowers welcome or donations may be made to the Bethany United Church Memorial/Maintenance Fund. Vax pass or proof of vaccination is required for visitation and funeral service. Please call Una at 549-2370 if you are attending the service at church. Thank you for all your expressions of support during her illness.

So, so shocked and sad to hear of Florence’s passing. Ever remembered as a wonderful person. As my mother Winnie said many times, “my son she’s something else, I’m telling you! I’ve always said if there was any sense in this world, she would have had a crown. She had a heart of gold!” I will add that she had that rare gift of being instantly loving and lovable. She didn’t get the crown but an angel on earth now has her wings. Amen. Rest in peace Florence.

What sad news (and shock) to hear of Florence’s passing. She was a beautful person. She was so many things; kind, loving, generous, thoughtful, understanding, hard worker and so much more. She touched so many lives in a positive way. I am so happy to have had her in my life. She was a special person to everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family. Especially Paulette, Wade, Barry and Brent. Love you Florence, you will be forever remembered and forever missed.

So very sorry to hear of your moms passing. I will remember her as a kind gentle woman who worked hard for her church and community and shared her love and kindness with all she met. I was very sad to hear of Florence’s passing. I have been in touch with her over the years. She always had a story to tell. It helped me to stay connected to my home town. Growing up, Florence was always around. We lived across the road from her and her family. She was quietly generous and was around to help when my Mom and Dad passed away.
I send my heartfelt sympathy to Paulette, Wade, Barry and Brent, to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all her famil y and friends who loved her. May all your special memories help you through this time of loss. Thinking of you and sending comfort..

My special aunt, my “other mom”. You were my friend, confidant, a calm during troubling times, and a constant of unconditional love. You were there for me since I was born, treating me as your own. You gave me love and support when mom and dad were ill and after they passed. You were my mom’s best friend. Childhood memories of staying with you during mom’s illness, family times, visits to “nan & pop Norris’s”, and those many trips “over the hill” with my little suitcase, are those I hold dear in my heart. I will miss our visits and chats so very much. Words cannot express how thankful and fortunate I am to have had you in my life. Heaven has gained a very special angel.

Florence was sure a beautiful lady inside & out. I fell so lucky to have her as a friend for so many years. We attended church together & all our church activities, we worked together played darts & cards & had many girls trips together. Loved her as a sister. Fly with the angels my beautiful friend. I cannot even think what Swift Current will be like without Florence. She has been there for me in my many times of need. This is the time of the year when I would be sending her a Christmas card with an enclosed donation for the Christmas bulb lighting in memory of loved ones. Florence was an amazing lady.. Her hands were never idle. She was such a good friend to my parents when they resettled to Swift Current. They sang her praises.always. Sorry to hear of Florence’s death. She was indeed a beautiful lady who had such a winsome personality. Anyone who knew her could not possibly forget the smiling face that she always seemed to wear & took great pride in how she presented herself.
