Passed peacefully away at Dr. GB Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville, with his loving wife Sheila by his side on September 5, 2024 Leslie Sherman Sceviour of Clarenville, age 70 years.
Predeceased by his parents David Sceviour and Lillian Bennett (Sceviour).
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife and best friend Sheila of 49 years, children Mark (Heather), Kelly and Gregory, grandchildren Miguel, Owen, Benett, Marshall, Lily and Brooklyn. Also left with loving memories are his siblings Evelyn Sceviour and Nelson Sceviour, his in-laws Ina Nichols (Douglas) Daphne Parsons (Myles) David Guy and William Guy (Sheila) along with his nephews and nieces and many friends.
Family was most important to Les. Although born and raised in St. John’s he was not a city boy. He had a great love for the outdoors especially cutting his annual firewood, camping and canoeing with his children and grandchildren. He had a special place in his heart for his feline friends. Les really enjoyed his work as a wildlife instructor at the College of the North Atlantic.
He will be sincerely missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Sarah Small and Dr. Gordon Stockwell for their compassion and care during Les’ illness and also to the staff of GB Cross Memorial Hospital during his stay.
Cremation has taken place.
Visiting hours will take place on Wednesday, September 11 at 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville.
Church Service will be officiated by The Rev. James Spencer at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Clarenville on Thursday, September 12 at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Clarenville or the Clarenville SPCA.
