Leona Greening September 24, 1935 - June 26, 2024

It’s with great sadness that the family of Leona Greening of Musgravetown announce her peaceful passing at GB Cross Hospital in Clarenville on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024, at the age of 88. Pre-deceased by her husband, Harvey Greening; parents Jack and Amelia Chatman; parents in-law Cleophas and llona Greening; son in-law Lee Holloway; brother, Garfield Penney; sister, Bertha Drover. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Judy; son, Todd (Sandy); grandchildren Paitton (Dillon) and Jordan (Kendra); great grandchildren, Nathan, Elise, and Brielle; sister, Margaret Ellis; sisters in-law, Dorothy Ivany, Mavis Ivany, and Barbara Penney; as well as her many nieces, nephews and extended family. A special thanks as well to her home care workers who cared deeply for her and the wonderful staff of G.B. Cross Hospital for their kindness and compassion in her difficult moments.

Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Lethbridge on Sunday, June 30th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm .  Funeral Service will held be Monday, July 1st starting 2pm at the Heritage United Church, Musgravetown.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the Heritage United Church Cemetery Fund, Musgravetown.

    Deepest condolences to all. I remember her and Uncle Harv’s visit every Sunday at Pop’s in Jamestown growing up.

    Thinking of you and your family, Judy, as you grieve this loss. Your mom was a wonderful soul and a great friend to Mom. Leone always had a great story and a huge sense of humour. She will be remembered with love. ❤️
