John (Jack) Ford Frampton was born to John and Amelia Frampton of Paradise Sound (now Monkstown) on March 1, 1939, one of 15 children. He married Amelia Butler on November 21, 1962, and together they raised four children.
Jack began his life’s working career at the age of fifteen, when he went to work in the fishery on Flat Islands, Placentia Bay. This began a life of working on the sea except for a short stint of employment in Buchans and Churchill Falls. It is accurate to state that “Jack was every inch a sailor.”
Jack was affectionately known as “Little Jack”. While he was little in stature, he stood tall in character and work ethic. He was a wonderful provider for his family and a loving and devoted husband to Amelia for nearly 63 years. He was deeply loved and respected by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as “Poppy Jack”.
For over 40 years, Jack walked closely with God and was a true example of what it meant to be a Christian. Though a very quiet man, his strength of character and life of integrity spoke loudly to all who knew him.
Jack is predeceased by his parents, John and Amelia; four brothers, Emmanuel, Frank, Chesley, and Melvin; one sister, Edith Marie; and daughter-in-law Donna. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Amelia; four children, Dale (Doreen), Genevera (Eddie), Loretta (Vince), and Jason; grandchildren Stephen (Melanie), Andrew (Haley), Ryan, Heidi (Brandon), Hillary (Dustin), Alexis (Jeremy), Tyler (Bailey); and great-grandchildren Mallory, Adelynn, Zander, Callum, Delilah, Eden, and Makenna. He will also be missed by his remaining siblings, Theresa, Beatrice, Susie, Violet, Ethel (Ray), Bill, Maxwell, Sid (Marilyn), and Marie (Terry), sister-in-law, Irene, many nieces and nephews, and a large circle of extended family and friends. Resting at The Salvation Army Arnold’s Cove Corps. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral service to take place from The Salvation Army Arnold’s Cove Corps on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. Internment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery Monkstown. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Salvation Army Arnold’s Cove Corps.

You could not ask for a better boarding house and in fact I was treated like I was part of the family.
