Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family in her 85th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Danny (August 30th, 2020), beloved daughter Heather, parents Hubert and Clara Peddle, and her sisters Loretta and Barbara. Leaving with many cherished memories of her love and wonderful spirit, children Karen (Rick) in Florida, Janet (Michael), Robert, and Susan (Don); stepdaughter Pansy (Jim); grandchildren Jordan (Karen), Kaitlin, Emily (Robert), Natalie (Lucas), Julia (Jared), Madeline, Krista (Stefan), and Pam (Hubert); great-grandchildren Victoria, Malcolm, Gabriel, and Lily; sisters Jeanette (Warwick) and Hilda (Ed); Tara Jones who was like a granddaughter to Mom; and a large circle of relatives and lifelong friends, including her quilting buddies. Mom’s loving and caring nature touched countless people throughout her life as a nurse and friend to so many. She was a talented quilter, seamstress, cook, gardener, and artist, and had an incredible zest for life. Her big heart, generosity, and sense of humour endeared her to all of us.
Special thanks to Maxine Avery, Sandra Greening, and Mom’s other caregivers at Total Care Nursing, Ashley Matthews at Community Health, the physicians and staff of G. B. Cross and the Health Sciences Centre for their excellent care, and Dr. Jackie Elliott and her husband Tony.
Visitation to take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road in St. John’s, on Sunday, January 3rd, from 2-4 and 6-8, and in Port Blandford at St. Aiden’s Anglican Church on Tuesday, January 5th, from 10-12, 2-4, and 6-8.
