I am so sorry to hear of Joan’s passing.

She was my first memory of school as my kindergarten teacher. Out of the blue she reached out to me when we lived in Labrador City and had such a pleasant visit together. I have thought of her many times over the years and I hope I am not out of line saying she had a life well lived.

I taught with Joan in Swift Current from 1972-1976. It was my first teaching assignment and Joan was a mentor to me at that time. She was a dedicated and excellent teacher and I learned a lot from her. I have many fond memories of her as a teacher and also as a wonderful and caring person. I pass along my sincerest condolences to her family.
