November 3, 2020 at 12:23 pmPeggy I would like to offer my most sincere condolences on the loss of your soulmate.
Roy stopped in to my shop with John Dwyer in 1995 (in that blue caprice or olds🤔) and an hour later after many belly aching laughs the glue was set A friend was made. We didn’t see each other a lot but it was Always a pleasure to see talk to and share a laugh with Roy.
The world is in very short supply of men of Roy’s character humility and warm disposition.
Earth lost and Heaven gained one fine soul.
Hugs and Love to You and your Family 💜

November 3, 2020 at 7:23 pmPeggy, I was absolutely heartbroken to hear of Roy’s passing. I was so looking forward to him returning to work . As his Manager at Eastlink, you couldn’t ask for a more dedicated or determined employee. He was kind hearted and caring, even passing out Christmas gifts to his comrades at work during the season. I have known Roy for over 35 Years and will truly miss the chats and his opinions on how to make the world a better place to live and work in. We all have some great memories of Roy to hold in our thoughts and may God truly bless you Peggy in the days ahead .

November 4, 2020 at 12:02 pmSorry for your loss Peggy. I started working with Roy back in the late 80’s. We were with N1 Cable at that time. Roy took me under his wing as he was more experienced and helped me in every aspect of the cable industry. We punched a lot of rough days and nights back then but we managed to laugh at it at the end of each day. I have so many memories of working and the occasional drink with Roy. He was a great friend to me as he was to so many others. You be strong and keep your memories close as I am sure that is what Roy would want. God bless.

November 4, 2020 at 12:09 pmTo Aunt Joan, Barry, Keith, Robert, Jeffrey, Darlene, Sandra, Liz, And Ruth Ann, (and spouses). Mom (Helen), and I want you to know that you are all in our prayers while you try to accept that your son and older brother has been taken from you. Our hearts break for you, but we ask our Heavenly Father that He will wrap His Loving arms around all of you to give you the strength that you need. Most of all, hold on to one another, and take comfort in knowing that Roy is now sitting at the table with his Dad. I know that Roy will bring lots of laughter and good times to heaven, because he was a laugh to be around. Bless all of you. Much love and care from Mom and I. xxoo

November 4, 2020 at 12:53 pmSo sorry for your loss Peggy, deepest condolences to you and your family. I’ve had the pleasure to work with Roy the last five years. In that time he really took me under his wing and taught me pretty much everything I know about how cable systems work. I could call him anytime day or night and he would be there to help. Rarely would he let me pay for lunch and would even get mad with me the few times I managed to do so. I was so looking forward to him recovering and coming back to work, he will be truly missed.

I had a pleasure to work with Roy and beyond being a work colleague I was glad to call both him and you a friend. Myself and Roy shared a love of lunch in which we often shared. Not to mention a few late night outages on occasion. When life and career took me elsewhere I missed people the most and especially Roy. His loss leaves us with heavy hearts and many, many warm memories. God Bless.

November 5, 2020 at 8:54 amMy thoughts and prayers go out to you and the entire family Peggy.
I met Roy shortly after joining the team in 2018 and was immediately impressed with his skills and approach to both his job and to people.
We spent the day touring the Bonavista Peninsula and Roy didn’t hold back on providing information, good and bad, to help me understand the region. For Roy, it was important to share this feedback openly and honestly. On this first day, it wasn’t just about learning the “work”, we had great personal conversations which laid the framework for our relationship building which is so important when being new to the company.
I looked forward to and respected his feedback and thoughts throughout all of our interactions
Roys’ warm welcome, thoughtfulness and caring will always stay with me Peggy. God Bless
