James Gerard Hickey May 24, 1960 - October 13, 2024

On October 13, 2024, James (Jim) Hickey passed away suddenly at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville at the age of 64 years.  He was born in Clattice Harbour, NL and spent his early life in Southern Harbour and then Ontario from 1991-2023.  In 2023 he moved back to Southern Harbour where he was most happy.  He is predeceased by his father Alphonsus (2008) and survived by and will be dearly missed by his mother Mary Hickey (Power); his loving daughter Chelsea Hickey of London, Ontario; brothers Frank (Valerie) and Mike (Rosemary); sister Anne (Gord); seven nieces and nephews and a large circle of family and friends.

Jim will be remembered for his giving nature, kindness and loving sense of humor.  His favorite place to be was by the water, preferably in Davis Cove at the cabin, watching the fishing boats come in or spending time with friends and family ‘having a yarn’.

Visitation will take place at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Arnolds Cove on Wednesday, October 16 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.  with cremation to follow.

Our deepest and sincere condolences to the family. I’ve known Jim for years and he always had a smile and good yarn. He could always make you laugh. I don’t think he had a mean bone in his body. If he couldn’t say a nice thing about anyone he said nothing at all. Jim you will be missed. RIP
